Start Outlook, select the Tools menu and then select Options.
Select the tab 'Mail Setup' and click on 'E-mail Accounts'
Select 'View or change existing e-mail accounts' and then click 'Next'
Select the Bartol account and then click on 'Change'
On the 'E-mail Accounts' window make sure the settings are as in the next picture.
In particular make sure that 'Your Name', 'E-mail Address', and 'Username' are
spelled correctly and make sure the 'Incoming mail server' and 'Outgoing mail
server' fields are set to 'bartol.udel.edu' .
Make sure 'Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)' is NOT checked.
Click on 'More settings'.
On the 'Outgoing Server' tab make sure that 'My outgoing server (SMTP) required authentication' and 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server' are checked.
On the 'Advanced' tab make sure that the two buttons 'This server requires an
encrypted connection (SSL)' are both checked.
Now click OK until you are back at the main window, then select the menu 'Tools' and then 'IMAP Folders'
Make sure that the button 'When displaying hierarchy in Outlook, show only subscribed folders' is NOT checked and then click OK.
Now you should be back to the main window. Click on Inbox to read your mail.
As you see from the picture there is a folder named 'spam' that will contain
the spam that has been caught by the filters. The messages In this folder are
automatically deleted when they become one week old.
